Robinson is located a short few blocks from the sparkling Pacific Ocean. It is the smallest of five elementary schools in the Manhattan Beach Unified School District. Transcending the 1950’s clapboard siding and long sloping roof lines, Robinson is a vibrant sanctuary of learning, involvement and academic excellence. Embracing the belief that a richly integrated curriculum will improve student retention of material and inspire creativity, Robinson weaves differentiated and project-based learning, creativity, and the arts, into core curriculum instruction.

The Robinson experience is defined by its traditions and a spirit of excellence. Distinguished staff members work collaboratively with a highly involved and motivated base of parents and community members, making Robinson a consistent standout, both academically and socially, within a high-performing school district and across the state. Robinson School exemplifies a true partnership between school and home with thousands of volunteer hours clocked each year. Service and compassion toward community through many outreach programs offer students regular opportunities to shine with philanthropic enthusiasm.

Robinson is also known as a dynamic laboratory for innovations in instruction and delivery. Stellar teachers lead the way with instructional differentiation through the integration of technology using iPads, SMART boards, and Khan Academy. The writing workshop program transforms reluctant writers into student authors. Curriculum-driven visual and performing arts residencies inspire creativity and artistry. Curiosity is captured and knowledge is cemented with hands-on science lab experiences. Focusing on rigor, problem solving and the power of relationship, each child feels empowered to become life long learners. Through its vision and actions, Robinson demonstrates what it looks like when a public school is the very best it can be.
