The 2016 National Blue Ribbon Schools Awards ceremony brought more than 800 educators–administrators, teachers, and supporters–together for a two-day meeting of celebration and connection. Speakers included U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King, Jr., international researcher on student voice Dr. Russell Quaglia, international diversity advocate Eileen Kugler, 2013 National Teacher of the Year Sean McComb, author and co-founder of We Need Diverse Books Ellen Oh, and 2014 NBRS principal and national principal of the year Sheila Harrity.
