The Regional Educational Laboratory-Central will host a webinar on effective teacher development in mathematics on Thursday, January 30 from 2:30 – 4:00 pm (Mountain Time; 4:30 – 6:00 pm Eastern Time).
Dr. Hilda Borko, Professor of Education at Stanford University, and recipient of the 2014 Excellence in Scholarship in Mathematics Teacher Education Award from the American Association of Mathematics Teachers, will present. Her research focuses on the process of learning to teach, the impact of teacher professional development programs on teachers and students, and strategies and tools for preparing professional development leaders. Her current program of research includes an exploration of the use of video in professional development and the preparation of PD leaders. Register for Dr. Borko’s webinar.
Dr. Borko has published more than 50 academic articles and book chapters. She served as President of the American Educational Research Association (2003-2004) and is a member of the National Academy of Education.
