Webster Area Elementary School is located in the rural northeastern area of South Dakota. Webster Area Elementary is a preschool - 5th grade school hubbed in a building that holds preschool -12th grade students. Our small population and rural farming community promotes a hard-working and close-knit atmosphere.

One of the many benefits of being in a small community is the smaller class size. Having a lower teacher to student ratio, our teachers and staff are able to focus on one-to-one relationships with our students. These positive relationships help our students to flourish academically and take risks to become leaders within the school. Smaller class sizes also make it easier for Webster to implement interventions with struggling students through the use of our Title I program, small groups, and differentiated instruction. Each year, we also integrate new technology throughout the building. This includes Promethean boards, iPads, mobile devices, and professional development for our online platforms.

These attributes along with positive community support and dedicated staff has made it easier for Webster to be successful during these hard times presented by Covid-19. Without our school family atmosphere, hard-working attitude, growing technology, and committed staff we would not have been as successful in transitioning to distance learning. Webster Area Elementary School continues to push forward with a positive outlook and an ongoing drive to be successful in challenging our students to strive for excellence.
