Wantagh High School

Wantagh High School

Wantagh High School first opened its doors to students in September of 1954 and graduated its first senior class in June of 1956. We are a proud learning community that prides itself on respecting and honoring tradition, while simultaneously being progressive, forward thinking, and innovative. We strive to inspire students to develop a strong sense of individual worth and respect for others, to become lifelong learners and independent thinkers, and to fulfill themselves as concerned citizens in a diverse world.

We extend a robust course catalog as we offer Regents, Honors, College, and AP level courses for students beginning in 9th grade. We proudly offer courses in Art, Music, Business, Technology, Family and Consumer Science, and World Language, in addition to Math, Science, English, and Social Studies. Further, students have opportunities to participate in over 60 extra/co-curricular activities and close to 30 athletic teams. Our annual graduation frequently exceeds 98%.
