Luther Burbank Middle School - Lancaster, MA

The Luther Burbank Middle School is located in the town of Lancaster, a history-rich community nestled in central Massachusetts. A Title 1 school established in 1973, the Luther Burbank Middle School is one of six schools in the Nashoba Regional School District honored to serve a wide range of learners in grades 6-8 and serve as the home to our district's PACE (Personalized Academics and Community Education) program, a program which supports students of varying levels of need through community-based instruction and differentiated academic programming.

The Luther Burbank Middle School is incredibly proud of the different dimensions of diversity our students bring to our community. At Luther Burbank, we recognize that it is through our differences that we recognize our collective strength. This is what we refer to as #theLBMSWay.

#theLBMSWay is predicated on a shared belief system that all students are capable of achievement at high levels, all students are capable of great things. This belief system has driven and created opportunities for educational equity in core instructional programming and led to an expansion of enrichment offerings schoolwide. Over recent years we have shifted our instructional model to a fully co-taught model of instruction for mathematics and English language arts and implemented the workshop model for literacy; both models combine high levels of content-rich instruction with strong differentiated teaching practices in a wholly inclusive setting. Our after school extra-curricular programming has also grown significantly over recent years with student participation at an all time high. Activities ranging from Flag Football to Chemistry Club to Honors Wind Ensemble offer something for everyone and further help to foster relationships and strengthen community connectedness long after the last school bell rings.
