Heroes Annual Freedom Walk September 11th

Heroes Annual "Freedom Walk" September 11th

Heroes Elementary School is a Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) school for military-connected students living on Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina. We serve approximately 400 students from preschool through fifth grades. The vision of Heroes Elementary School is excellence in education for every student, every day, everywhere. In achieving this vision, we strive to put the needs of our military-connected children and families first. Heroes Elementary School students and families are a diverse and resilient group. Most of our students and families routinely face moves and deployments and other challenges associated with a life of military service. So, we do our best to support them as their Heroes "Family."

The Heroes purpose statement is: Our heads solve problems and are always learning. Our hearts are respectful and considerate. And, our hands work together for the good of all. The whole school community recites the Heroes purpose statement every morning as we work diligently to "walk the walk" each and every day by providing a joy-filled learning environment for all.
