New Century Technology High School students at work

The "Rocket City" of Huntsville, Alabama is home to New Century Technology High School. Strong industry presence throughout the city in aerospace, defense, technology, and biomedical sciences creates a high demand for workers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields. These workers are often hard to find. Twenty years ago, industry leaders and education officials partnered to create New Century Technology High School; a magnet school in the heart of the city designed to prepare young people for careers in these high demand STEM fields.

New Century Technology High School started as a half day program and soon became a full high school drawing students interested in STEM careers from all over the district. Partnerships with local businesses and institutions of higher learning provide a broad range of opportunities designed to provide unique educational experiences for our students. Rigorous coursework, hands-on activities, and industry experience effectively prepare our students for challenging careers in ever-evolving STEM fields. Engaged students, dedicated faculty and staff, supportive parents, and a committed community help ensure that New Century students leave high school prepared for further studies and successful careers in the fields of biomedical science, computer science, or engineering.
