International School - Bellevue, WA

International students collaborating

International students collaborating

The International School is a lottery choice, 6th-12th grade school in the Bellevue School District. Our students graduate from International School with in-depth knowledge of seven core subjects - International Studies, Humanities, Science, Math, French, Performing/Visual Arts, and Physical Education - and opportunities to earn college credits through Advanced Placement courses. Along with our core curriculum program, students pursue their curiosity through Senior Projects, participate in Community to strengthen relationships and give back, and explore career options through Focus Week. Technology is integrated in all our classes as all students are issued their own laptop. Our teachers leverage technology to open students' learning to the world beyond the classroom doors and to prepare them to be 21st century learners.

Finally, creating a strong learning community is critical to our student success. Events such as an overnight high school retreat and 6th grade retreat are intentional, to celebrate the start of the school year and learning together. Collaboration between and amongst students, teachers, and families are evident in our daily work. Our students take an active role in helping establish and maintaining this positive community and lead many of the enrichment activities including our very active student clubs. Our teachers advise, guide, and empower our students. Our families volunteer their time and resources to ensure all needs are met and support our teachers as they go above and beyond for our students.
