Paul Munro Elementary School is a public Title I school located in Lynchburg, Virginia. It is nestled in the northwest area of the city, drawing students from the surrounding neighborhood and a cross section of the community. Our school serves a diverse population of 350 students in Pre-K through fifth grade.

At Paul Munro, we exemplify our school motto, "We Are Family." Our veteran staff promotes a positive atmosphere where students feel welcome and safe.Teachers make a point of building rapport with students: listening to them, exhibiting interest in them, and getting to know them on a deeper level. We believe in a growth mindset that promotes high expectations. Our school climate motivates children to explore various instructional modalities and to realize their fullest potential.

Paul Munro staff ensures educational excellence for our students through differentiating instruction, implementing interventions, and providing enrichment opportunities. Our school has prioritized literacy and math. We focus on a balanced approach to literacy: employing leveled readers, incorporating word study, and promoting independent reading. In math, we encourage students to work collaboratively and independently as they make connections through hands-on experiences, problem solving, and real life applications. Through the combined efforts of parents, staff, and community, Paul Munro Elementary School produces an instructional environment that embraces a love of learning and fosters our students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
