Sidney High School - Sidney, NE

State and nationally recognized, Sidney High School Choir

State and nationally recognized, Sidney High School Choir

In the past three years, Sidney has undergone a significant change in our community with Cabela's being purchased by Bass Pro Shops. This caused a tremendous upheaval in our community. We recognize that the school is a pillar and focus in our community. So to help in our transition in our community, we created multiple programs to reflect our changing community and the world around us. All sophomores now at Sidney High School take a computer programming class. This means that 100% of our students have at least a working knowledge and understanding of coding. We also created a Career Pathways Program, which exposes all students to career opportunities. All juniors and seniors have the opportunity to job shadow and complete internships. We partnered with over 30 community organizations and businesses to provide these meaningful opportunities for our students. In addition to the programs and opportunities we added, we also refocused our efforts to keep our core instruction strong and work to stay a model school in our region and state. Within our community, there is a strong pride, and we firmly believe we just need to roll up our sleeves and get to work. We are honored to have such strong support from all our families, students, staff, and community partners that support our school. We coined the phrase last year "#thepowerofus." We live this everyday at Sidney High School with the help and support of our entire community.
