Maine South students heading to class

Maine South High School, home of the Hawks, lies 30 minutes northwest of downtown Chicago in a suburban area serving most of Park Ridge and portions of Harwood Heights, Niles, Norridge, and Norwood Park Township. We continuously work towards a positive and encouraging student and staff culture through the lens of our P.R.I.D.E. framework (Purposeful, Resilient, Inclusive, Dependable, Engaged).

Our students have a voice in the vision and mission of our school. Students regularly design programming, activities, and fundraising for the school and community. They are the reason we exist, and for 55 years, they have graduated into the world and made major contributions to medicine, the arts, business, and public affairs.

Our staff have a voice and we work hard to encourage their agency. They are perhaps the only faculty in the country where every member is supported by a trained instructional coach every year on a personalized plan. Our school leadership structure is built on faculty involvement and trust.

Our community has a voice. We give students direct access to the world outside of our walls through business partnerships, internships, and career experiences using a Return-on-Investment counseling model. Students are able to "try on" their careers and make financial decisions about their future that have been sharpened through our community.

We are proud of our school, our students, our staff, and our community for what has already been accomplished and for our future. It's a great time to be a Hawk!
