North Mianus School - Riverside, CT

North Mianus School houses 498 students and although it is the largest elementary school in Greenwich, it very much reflects the feel of a small town community. Over the years we have welcomed students from all over the world and we take every opportunity to celebrate our rich cultural diversity.

At North Mianus we demonstrate our commitment to personalizing learning by beginning the year with Student Interest Surveys. These surveys help teachers identify interests and passions and incorporate them into playlists, choice boards, and project based learning activities. We believe that every student is entitled to an education that meets their needs and celebrates their strengths. Flexible seating provides students with "voice and choice" as they actively help design the classroom environment.

Assessment data is used to determine academic needs and to create rigorous instruction that fills in gaps and provides enrichment opportunities. Our growth and high achievement attest to the importance of meeting every student "where they are." The Greenwich School District has developed norms that support social-emotional learning in every school. Our school incorporates these norms into our PBIS framework to ensure every student understands our school expectations and is a positive , caring member of our school community.

Our School Data Team carefully monitors our School Improvement goals and ensures we are on track to reach yearly targets.
