At Bannach Elementary, we work hard to ensure everyone feels welcome. Students are greeted by name, with personalized conversations, and many offer hugs or high-fives. Research suggests a collaborative structure is key to building a positive culture. Our principles embody the traits: energy, trustworthiness, honesty, optimism, and determination. Staff have a shared mindset that focuses on solutions. We share concerns and celebrations about our performance, as well as, the student and families we support. The goal is to start small and build on successes. These philosophies and practices are the reasons we have closed the achievement gap for our students on the Wisconsin Forward Exam.

This philosophy extends into our engagement of one of Bannach's greatest assets - parental and community involvement. As a school community, we embrace this concept as one of the core values within our school culture. Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is one of our great support systems and our school and students have been enriched by their hard work and dedication through numerous outlets. A recent effort to support all students came through an enhancement to our playground with pavilions and Buddy Benches. These simple benches, offer a place where students who may be feeling lonely can sit as a signal to other students that they are looking for a buddy.

Bannach employs numerous ways to incorporate a positive school culture for all who enter our doors. Development of a culture and community of lifelong learning has truly set Bannach Elementary apart.
