FMHS Yellow Jackets collaborating in our Learning Commons

Fort Mill High School boasts a rich history of academic excellence and an unparalleled, vibrant school culture that is genuinely student-focused. While our school routinely finishes among the top schools in South Carolina in terms of on-time graduation rate, scores in Advanced Placement courses, End of Course exam passing rates, and ACT and SAT scores, our focus remains on student learning rather than accountability metrics or test scores. We seek not only to equip our students with world-class skills and knowledge that are instilled through a rigorous academic program of studies, but also to foster the necessary character, determination, and collaborative and technological skills that best prepare them for life after high school.

Essential to the development of our incredible educational atmosphere is a commitment to our district motto of putting "Children First." Whether it is through creating academic remediation times built into the school day or through providing extra help sessions before and after school in every class, our commitment remains focused on going the extra mile for our students. Despite growing by nearly 100 students a year for more than the last decade, we have worked diligently to maintain a small-town feel and personal approach to learning. We have an incredibly supportive community that values our school and allows us the educational freedom to take risks and try new things. Through this shared vision and valuable collaborative effort, we are empowered to focus on that which is most important: our students.
