York Prep's annual "Graduate Procession" through campus

York Preparatory Academy has put a concerted effort into our focus on the ongoing individual growth of both teachers and students. We commit as teachers, staff, parents, and community volunteers to pursue better ways to understand student needs and to develop ways to reach them. A high premium is placed on the examination of multiple data points to give us a clear picture of the reality in our classrooms and on collaborating with each other to design ways to improve them.

In order to make this work there needs to be an open culture of trust. We unapologetically look at and talk about student achievement. Our students and their families need to know what their growth trajectory looks like, what we will do to improve it, and what we need from them in order for it to be successful. We ask a lot from our teachers and strive to create an atmosphere where they feel respected for those efforts. Building and strengthening that positive atmosphere requires a concerted effort from the school's leadership team, in cooperation with parent and community volunteers.

We thank our district and state leaders for their support and guidance as we continue to work to adapt to whatever new challenges arise for our families. We are indebted to a fantastic teaching staff, the recruitment and development of which is an ongoing focus. We are also grateful to a community willing to trust us with their students. We care about them and are committed to their success.
