Oakwood Elementary 3rd Graders are ready for science experiments

Oakwood Elementary, serving 285 pre-school through 6th grade students, is one of two elementary schools in the Paulding Exempted Village Schools district in rural northwest Ohio. At Oakwood Elementary, we are committed to helping all children grow academically, emotionally, and socially in a safe, caring environment.

Through a blended use of technology, differentiated instruction, and attention to individual needs, we know each one of our students can meet the high expectations we have for them and can use their unique abilities to reach their full potential and make a positive contribution to society.

"You are a necessary and important part of the Oakwood Elementary Community" is on the wall of our main hallway; our staff puts this motto into action every day, beginning with warm welcomes in the morning and all the way to our special send-offs in the afternoon. Our staff works with all students to promote positive character traits and good decision-making skills through out PAWS (Pride, Attitude, Work Ethic, and Self-Control) program.

Though our district serves many economically disadvantaged students, our rural community is proud of its elementary school and is very supportive of our goals and activities. Through our Memorial Day program, Veteran's Day program, Christmas program, and many other events, we are able to show our students how their character and actions have a positive impact on the world around them. Oakwood Elementary is truly a place where the students, the staff, and the community can be proud to say, "We love our school!"
