Students certify in CPR before starting senior mentorships.

Established in 1996, the Monmouth County Academy of Allied Health and Science is a small learning community that prepares and motivates students to pursue further education towards a career in the health care professions. We accomplish this by offering a rigorous specialized curriculum that emphasizes science, mathematics, and technology, especially as these subjects apply to medicine, and by engaging students in experiential and service learning with community partners.

The academic rigor of our curriculum is enhanced by articulation agreements with Rutgers University School of Health Professions, Georgian Court University, and Monmouth University. Affiliation with these universities enables our students to take college level courses in the field of health science and earn up to 19 college credits through dual enrollment. Experiential and service learning is supported by partnerships with local hospitals, include Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Monmouth Medical Center, and Riverview Hospital, as well as other community service organizations such as the Jersey Shore Rescue, the Monmouth County Food Bank, the Ronald McDonald House, the Schroth School for children with multiple disabilities, New Horizons for Autism, and the Acelero Learning Head Start program for preschool children.

Through thorough academic preparation, engagement in the healthcare field, and exposure to the demographics most in need of health care services, our students learn to be productive citizens, responsible contributors to their community, conscientious members of a global society, and lifelong learners.
