Since there is no actual town of Bullock Creek, the school district has become the cornerstone of the community. Our motto is "You Belong at Bullock Creek," and it truly exemplifies our sense of community and acceptance of all people.

Pine River Elementary, in partnership with the community, provides a positive climate that supports excellence in teaching and learning, thereby enabling students to realize their full potential. In recent years, the district has benefited from grants from the Dow Foundation that provided nature-based learning at Pine River Elementary in conjunction with the Chippewa Nature Center, which is housed directly across the road from our school. There is a unique relationship between the school district, Pine River Elementary and the Chippewa Nature Center and has provided many additional opportunities for our students.

The demographics of our district are diverse. Pine River Elementary serves students whose parents are Dow DuPont executives, physicians, teachers, laborers and skilled trade workers. Thirty-four percent of the students at Pine River Elementary are schools of choice. The inclusion of these students also increases the diversity of our student population.

The staff at Pine River Elementary wholeheartedly believes in collective efficacy and work together to provide the best educational opportunities for our students. The collaboration of the staff to teach with fidelity and provide rich experiences for students to grow as learners to their fullest capacity is evidenced daily. As is often stated in Bullock Creek, "It’s a Great Day to be a Lancer."
