Students created a touchstone poster that reflects commitment to character.

Seaholm High School proudly displays a tradition of academic excellence that reflects a commitment to developing the character and emotional strength of our student body as well as their intellectual growth. By nurturing relationships among staff and students, we seek to energize our community to find new ways to explore, examine and reflect upon the great universe of ideas that exist in our world. As we intentionally teach our students how to engage in civil discourse--to both speak and listen with respect, curiosity and an open mind, we equip them not only with the tools needed to make sense of our existing world, but also to change it for the better. In addition to the exciting seminars in our classrooms, we offer monthly opportunities for students and teachers to meet through forums such as "Walk in Our Shoes," a program developed to increase the understanding among the staff and students beyond engaging in discipline-specific content. Over pizza and pop, we share our stories and begin to understand perspectives beyond our own.

Over three quarters of our students participate in athletic programs at Seaholm. The athletic staff shares the school's commitment to character development as they support our athletes to perform with honor on and off the field. In addition, community service underpins our philosophy to inspire students to act compassionately to enhance the lives of those in need and to increase empathy among us all.

In the immense network of programs and activities we engage in daily at Seaholm, we foster a culture that educates the heart, in addition to the mind and body. At Seaholm, we respect and honor the role public education plays in positively shaping our world. Here, we guard, nurture and celebrate the contributions of all learners.
