Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School (CJB) located in Orland Hills, IL, opened in September 2000 as the first Chicago Archdiocesan regional school sponsored by four parishes. CJB was first recognized in 2008 as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education. CJB has again been honored in 2018 with this national recognition.

CJB's mission statement includes a collaborative model inclusive of the efforts of pastors, teachers, staff and parents. The school supports parish ministries through active involvement in liturgy, faith and family formation, and social service outreach. The entire school community assists in a variety of volunteer-based activities. Parishes and school working together help students and parents keep Christ at the center of life, develop healthy habits of prayer and decision-making rooted in faith, and promote character formation based on Gospel virtues.

As an AdvancED accredited school, CJB offers academic instruction of the highest caliber to its students in grades PreK-8. The school curriculum meets the needs of the whole child and prepares students to be life-long learners. In all content areas, students are taught to think critically and express themselves clearly. Technology supports ongoing trends in education with a 1:1 Chromebook Program for grades 3-8. A professional staff inclusive of teacher aides, counselors, speech and reading specialists, and an inclusive education director provides a multi-disciplinary approach to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
