Student Storybook Character Parade on Read Across America Day!

Student Storybook Character Parade on Read Across America Day!

Stonehouse Elementary is a part of the Williamsburg-James City County school division serving approximately 730 students in kindergarten through 5th grade. For seventeen years, Stonehouse has garnered tremendous support of families, community leaders, and local organizations. Our students and staff enjoy a plethora of historical resources and extended learning opportunities beyond the classroom due to our location within the Historic Triangle. As Sea STARS, our core values include Safety, Tolerance, positive Attitude, Respect, and Striving for excellence. These ideals are embedded in our school and guide interactions among students and staff.

As a community, we focus on high student achievement for 21st century success while providing a safe and welcoming climate for learning. Collaboration and open communication between families, staff, and administration provide the foundation for student academic achievement. Our families are very supportive of and actively involved in their children's education. Parents volunteer daily within the school community, our PTA actively recruits families to participate in school-sponsored events, and our Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students) program continues to grow every year. Commitment to collaboration has resulted in increased student achievement as measured by student performance, increased student engagement in the classroom, and high levels of teacher retention. As we continue to grow as a learning community, we remain mindful of our responsibility to reflect upon our successes and our opportunities for growth. Stonehouse Elementary School is a community of learners and leaders committed to fostering the development of the whole child through establishment of lasting relationships.
