Valle Verde students...on the road to college excellence!

Valle Verde Early College High School (VVECHS) is a public high school in the Ysleta Independent School District, located on an El Paso Community College (EPCC) campus. VVECHS has been recognized in recent years as an Apple Distinguished School, a Texas Early College High School Demonstration School, and was listed in 2016 as the top-ranked public high school in the El Paso region by U.S. News & World Report and Newsweek.

In order to promote college and career readiness, VVECHS requires students to commit to a rigorous, four-year curriculum in order to graduate with a high school diploma and an associate's degree from EPCC. Students can earn over 60 college credit hours, which prepares them to meet the demands of a competitive college/university in the following years. Students also find themselves immersed in the college culture, as they must take at least 15 college classes at EPCC.

Students are supported through programs such as AVID, as well as a 1-to-1 initiative that provides an iPad to every student, which results in equal access to technology to enable 21st century learning. Community service is also emphasized -- all students must perform 80 volunteer hours to graduate -- as well as participation in extracurricular activities focusing on leadership, academics, or fine arts. Upon graduating, students have attended some of the nation's most prestigious colleges and universities. The VVECHS community firmly believes that with great opportunity comes great responsibility -- and our students live up to that responsibility every day by valuing the importance of education, and working to the best of their ability.
