Students collaborating in Chemistry class with guidance from Mr. Shelenberger!

At the Laurel Junior-Senior High School, we provide students a well-rounded high quality education that will prepare them for their future careers. We have created a culture where students are collaborating and working toward their goals of college or career readiness. Teachers set the highest standard for students to create an educational environment that empowers every student with the academic skills and character to meet the challenging demands of the 21st Century. Our highly qualified teaching staff creates rigorous lessons while formatively assessing students to design learning targets to grow the academic skills of each and every student. The curriculum is rooted in best practices and structured upon the state and/or national academic standards while also instilling students with the soft skills necessary to compete for jobs, program admission, scholarships, and recognition. The culture creates students and staff who show pride in their ability to showcase their understanding, while connecting it to a community of families who are perpetual partners in the learning experience. The bond forged between the Laurel Junior-Senior High School and the community fosters a feeling of trust and is the foundation we use to push students to the highest level of academic achievement. At the Laurel Junior-Senior High School we know that a serious investment in the lives of our students is also an investment in our community. We view the success of each child as another triumphant step for our district as well as for society.
