Toll Gate Elementary is the largest of seven elementary schools in Pickerington, Ohio. Our mission of "Growing Leaders" recognizes that each student possesses leadership potential. We believe that when given an opportunity to showcase their strengths and talents, every child will thrive as a leader. Student leadership teams provide an opportunity for shared leadership with students, parents, and community members.

Toll Gate recognizes the value and importance of nurturing family and community relationships. We collaborate with our PTSO and students take an active role in presenting ideas and making decisions. Community Career Exploration presentations allow our community to connect possible careers with Toll Gate's habits for success.

Toll Gate provides students with opportunities for personalized learning via student-centered data collection, analysis and goal setting. The continuous process of reviewing data, identifying strategies and evaluating progress has changed the mindset of both teachers and students. Teachers have improved instruction as they use data to personalize learning opportunities for students. Students have become more focused on their learning paths and are able to articulate their progress. Parents are better able to understand the power of goal setting and various pathways to learning their children can use. It internalizes the understanding of data as students practice their analysis and interpretation in a setting beyond the classroom. Our intentional high instructional expectations and use of data combined with a focus on the paradigm of leadership makes Toll Gate a special place to learn!
