Ronald McNair Elementary School's motto of Soaring Towards Success has been our inspiration for student achievement. In order to meet the individual needs of all learners, students are taught daily in differentiated small guided reading and mathematics groups. During instruction, teachers utilize discourse strategies to help students gain a deeper understanding of the curriculum. Students take ownership over their learning by setting goals and receiving teacher feedback on those goals.

At McNair, we believe education begins with building strong relationships with our students. We create an atmosphere where students are proud of their school, eager to learn, and comfortable sharing what makes each of them a unique and essential member of the school. Our students are taught to value and respect each other. We have a Reading and Technology Buddy Program where upper grade classes partner with students in younger grades to mentor, model, and help to motivate them through books and technology. Students are also active in the SGA (fifth grade), Jump Rope for Heart, the School Morning Show, Safety Patrols, SERT, and Girls on the Run.

The mission of the PTA is to be the voice for all stakeholders amd to ensure they take an active role in keeping McNair a place of classroom and community learning and achievement. The PTA supports the educational program by arranging volunteers, assisting with acquiring academic materials, and providing access to activities, which enrich the instructional programs, for all families. The success of Ronald McNair is a testament to the commitment of the entire Ronald McNair Elementary community.
