Wheaton Christian Grammar School - Winfield, IL

Wheaton Christian Grammar School exists under the authority of God and His Word, to educate, train, and nurture children for godliness and excellence, equipping them to engage and transform their world for Jesus Christ. During the early 1940s, that mission began in the vision of Wheaton-area parents who identified the need for a strong, biblically-based school. Seventy-five years later, the dedication, persistent prayer, and sacrifice of those founding parents is evident in today's mature Kindergarten through 8th grade school that is widely recognized for its academic rigor, breadth of programming, and spiritual vitality.

For nearly six of the school's decades, its home was a compact campus where the growing student population taxed the building resources and required wait-listing for many prospective students. Resolution came through the near-miraculous acquisition of a 35-acre parcel, and the subsequent design, building, and move to a new campus in 2010. Now, leading-edge (SMART) technology supports curriculum in all areas. STEM, Visual and Performing Arts, Multi-Media Literacy, and Exceptional Student Services are particular strengths. Varied and thoughtful professional development supports our well-qualified faculty.

Parents describe WCGS as warm, caring, and positive - a safe haven. Each year, numerous alumni return to enroll their own children, demonstrating continued confidence in the school's rich program. A wide range of service, ministry, athletic, fine arts, and co-curricular activities help students discover their gifts. At its heart, WCGS's intentionally nurtures the whole child in spiritual formation and character development consistent with the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
