Dodgen MS Scholastic Summer Reading Celebration - Best in State

Dodgen MS Scholastic Summer Reading Celebration - Best in State

Dodgen Middle School has an established reputation for excellence with a 2016 CCRPI score of 99.6 and a 5 star school climate rating. Our vision is to create opportunities that allow students to grow academically, cognitively, emotionally, and socially through service and leadership. This vision is the catalyst driving every decision we make.

Ninety-six percent of our students participate in a music program, and over 60% are active in various activities. Our Professional Learning Communities (PLC) have a laser focus on purposeful and prudent planning, instruction, and learning. The result has been the creation of a rigorous curriculum model for all students, as evidenced in our student performance data progress points indicator for growth. Literacy is one of the largest indicators of academic success, and 70% of our students are offered a reading class that is differentiated for advanced and struggling readers. The learning commons is the literacy hub of our school, and in 2016 Dodgen received national recognition as Best in State in the 2016 Scholastic Summer Reading Program.

We are very fortunate to be in a very giving community that supports our initiatives and school goals. We have a heavily involved PTSA, Foundation, School Council, and generous Partners in Education that allow us to provide opportunities and pathways for student success. Whether we are responding to diverse content level options or offering clubs and activities that support adolescent growth, development, and maturity, Dodgen is about One Team, One Goal...Student Success!
