NBRS Badge for Woodland Elementary School

Woodland Elementary School - Barron, WI

Woodland

Woodland's K/1 multi-age students celebrate together

Caring, safe and fair, like a Barron Bear - be golden! At Woodland Elementary, every staff member and all volunteers contribute to a positive, "golden" atmosphere.

Kids come first at Woodland Elementary. There is an organization-wide focus on collaboration, innovation, and pushing the envelope to benefit kids. Resources are allocated as necessary to further develop a culture focused on improving student outcomes and academic engagement for ALL kids at ALL levels.

Our teachers and our specialists provide leadership to support student achievement and success. Grade level teams meet weekly to discuss curriculum and students' needs. Specialists attend those meetings to further support student success, academically and emotionally. Our problem-solving team meets regularly to analyze student data, then meets with grade levels to determine best means of supporting students. TOGETHER, we determine how to best support students.

The first contact with Woodland is typically with one of our secretaries. They are helpful, knowledgeable and professional. You can say the same when it comes to the dedication of Woodland's custodians, interpreters, bus drivers, cooks, and paraprofessionals. Our classroom volunteers range from middle school students to senior citizens - we never have a shortage of volunteers.

In a community that faces economic challenges, we serve a wide range of students. We find success in collaboration and in unconditional love. Our climate empowers students and staff to take risks. Our climate encourages student to BE GOLDEN!
