Warner Elementary School - Warner, SD

Students modeling seed dispersal

Students modeling seed dispersal

Warner Elementary School is a JK-5 setting that offers a dynamic combination of progressive education platforms while maintaining a firm grasp of traditional learning values and concepts. We reside in the Northeast Corner of South Dakota which is 10 miles south of Aberdeen (3rd largest city in the state). We serve a rural demographic that associates closely with the neighboring large town. Our high expectations for student achievement directly relate to our teaching staff who have proudly served the district's students from 3 to 43 years of service. Our staff takes great pride in high expectations for all students; their commitment to the students' success are a reflection of the consistent growth and accomplishments each student displays. We are a small school by population, and with that distinction our staff gathers a greater understanding of each individual student. All staff members work to create a strong relationship with all students. They believe student-teacher relationships have a significant educational impact both short and long term. As an elementary staff they recognize they are establishing the foundation for learning that will not just get students through their respective grade but through all the grades. When High School graduation arrives, all teachers celebrate due to the relationship they developed with those students in their formidable years of elementary school. We invest in long term relationships that result in greater accomplishments for all.
