Peace Dale Elementary School is committed to valuing all members as partners in its learning community. Peace Dale School is the largest elementary school in South Kingstown, Rhode Island. We have approximately 370 students ranging from kindergarten to grade four. Our students come from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. We are a Title I designated school. We are proud of all that we have accomplished and attribute our success to our growth mindset. As it says in our mission statement, achievement will be reached "by encouraging students and adults to take risks and to expand on traditional ideas."

One of Peace Dale's greatest assets is the dedicated, professional staff, who embrace all students and are committed to ensuring that the students are academically engaged members of the Peace Dale learning community. We credit much of our success to two initiatives: teaching using the workshop model within all academic domains and PBIS. The staff have embraced the workshop model as a way of teaching. A partnership with Columbia University Teachers College has enabled our teachers the opportunity to collaborate with each other and experts in the field of reading and writing. Teachers are delivering a curriculum that is rigorous, research based, engaging, and has real-life application. The positive approach to behavior is another reason we have been successful, as we believe students need behavioral and emotional support in order to be ready to learn. This approach allows us the opportunity to honor our school expectations with "Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Safe."
