McCook Elementary School (MES) is a PK-3 school in southwest Nebraska serving approximately 435 students annually. A School-Wide Title I school, approximately 50% of our students live in poverty. MES was created eleven years ago by merging the smaller elementary schools within the district. MES is blessed to have a combination of highly effective veteran teachers and bright, visionary new teachers on our grade level TEAMS! Our TEAMS are supported by a dedicated and focused staff of Title, Special Education, and Specials teachers as well as paraprofessionals, secretaries, OT, custodial, PTO, and kitchen staff who deeply care about the success of ALL of our students! We are a PBiS school focused on creating a positive climate daily! Our TEAM is focused on equipping ALL students to succeed!
Our success begins with great teachers dedicating the time to do whatever it takes to lead ALL students to learning; no excuses! We are a PLC school who believes ALL students can learn at a high level, collaboration is the key to increasing success, and results matter! We follow the 3-Tier model of learning and support for ALL students, providing a guaranteed and viable curriculum. This is how 97% of our students reached benchmark on our state assessment in reading and 92% in math!
A true TEAM effort involving our Superintendent, Admin TEAM, central office personnel, district teachers/paraprofessionals/support staff, maintenance department, parents and community, McCook Elementary School is a great place to learn, grow, develop, and achieve for students and staff alike. #McCookSchools
