Writers' Workshop in Action in Lessenger's Outdoor Classroom

Lessenger Elementary strives to be a joyful learning place for all children and adults. Our goal is to create a warm, challenging, and vibrant space for all. We want our students to be prepared to compete against anyone while also learning to collaborate with everyone! We do this through modeling. As a staff, we work to create opportunities to develop deep connections with our families. We focus on learning, realizing that everything we encounter throughout our day connects us to our learning goals. As a school family, we establish goals together, creating a legacy of learners who are proud to be a part of our community. Having close to 50% of our school made up of students residing outside of our school boundaries, we have discovered the importance of making our school its own neighborhood. We are a close-knit community of learners who design lessons to engage parents and students to dig deeper into learning, questioning, sharing and communicating. We spend time listening to and planning with each other and implement the best research-based instructional practices consistently. We check our egos at the door and keep our hearts and minds open! We truly value "every child, every day" at Lessenger!
