Data driven skill groups tied to the RtI flooding model.

Data driven skill groups tied to the RtI flooding model.

Soaring Eagles Elementary is located in southeast Colorado Springs and is home to 550 of our finest young people in grades kindergarten through fifth. Since the opening of Soaring Eagles in 2003, we have been a Blue Ribbon Recipient (2009), a Title I Distinguished School for Exceptional Student Performance (2011) and awarded the Colorado High Achievers award (2015).

Our staff works diligently to provide direct instruction under our data driven RtI model through a flooding system. This model allows maximum support in small group instruction, and also allows students to receive extra one on one support that is vital for struggling learners to grow. The differentiation in instruction and the added supports are key to learning. This model has been one of the many reasons Soaring Eagles is used as a model, not only within our school district, but across the state of Colorado.

Many people contribute to the success of Soaring Eagles, including the teachers, students, parent volunteers, support staff and administration. It is the collaborative effort that makes us who we are. There is a mantra that is recited often that embodies who we are as a group, "Learning is not an option but an expectation". It is with this belief that everyone at Soaring Eagles gives their very best to ensure all of our eagles soar.
