Evergreen Elementary School - San Jose, CA

Soaring into the Future--One Student at a Time!

"Soaring into the Future--One Student at a Time!"

Evergreen Elementary School is a Professional Learning Community located in the southeast foothills of San Jose, California. Once a one-room schoolhouse that educated the children in the rural area of Evergreen Valley, today we prepare 781 students for the challenges of the 21st Century. Sixty years after our founding, Evergreen Elementary School campus has grown to 28 teachers and 21 support staff members in 32 classrooms. Built on years of rich tradition, Evergreen School distinguishes itself with academic excellence in an environment that encourages all students to "soar into the future."

Teachers focus their efforts on engaging students in learning that meets or exceed grade level expectations. Evergreen has implemented the district adopted Common Core curriculum, while at the same time designed learning experiences such as Project Based Learning units to further student understanding of grade level curriculum.

Parents have played a key role in our success through regular participation in classroom, school, and district-wide volunteer opportunities. In addition, Evergreen School has a very active PTA that gives generously of their time and financial resources.

All vested members of our school community work collaboratively and continuously to promote our vision. We set high expectations, while consistently working to achieve academic success for all students. We have created a positive school climate that maintains an emotionally, intellectually, socially, and physically safe place for student's individual growth and learning.
