Bayshore Elementary School - Anchorage, AK

Welcome to Bayshore Elementary School in Anchorage, Alaska.

Welcome to Bayshore Elementary School in Anchorage, Alaska.

Bayshore Elementary School is located in the southwest area of Anchorage, Alaska in a close-knit neighborhood representing a very diverse population. Our diversity allows students the opportunity to interact and learn with peers from various backgrounds, expanding knowledge of other cultures and preparing students for a global society. Our school community takes pride in our strong academic expectations for all students. We were recognized as one of Alaska's Reward Schools in 2014-2015 as a high achieving school striving to meet the academic needs of all students, and we currently hold a 5-Star rating under the Alaska School Performance Index (ASPI).

The teachers and support staff at Bayshore plan and implement challenging and engaging learning opportunities for students. By setting the bar high, while providing structures and support to students for the rigorous lesson activities, our students demonstrate the ability to meet and exceed the high expectations. We consistently implement systems such as MTSS, data based decision-making, "just right" professional development, team planning, and a block schedule that allows for teachers of the same grade level to meet weekly. All of these systems and practices help to ensure we maintain a strong academic environment for students. Bayshore has sustained our high achievement levels by constant reflection and evaluation of our practices while always keeping our focus on what is best for students.
