Spring Creek Elementary School - Laramie, WY

Celebrating our Patriotism with school and community.

Celebrating our Patriotism with school and community.

Spring Creek Elementary (SCES) is a K-5 school in the southern part of Laramie, Wyoming, also home to the University of Wyoming. The unique location of our school adds diversity to our student population and creates a high mobility for students and staff. In addition to general education our school houses the district's gifted and talented, a target assisted Title 1 and personalized learning services program.

SCES adopted the RTI model over eight years ago. The foundation of our RTI program and our student success lies in the Professional Learning Community model. Collaboration with all constituents is imperative. The team discusses data in the area of behavior, reading, writing, and math. By combining the CCSS, our programs, our data, and our use of best practices we can meet the needs of all students.

Another advantage to our location is the opportunity to collaborate with our University to provide extended learning opportunities. On any given day students can be involved in the study of water shed, learning about cultures from exchange students, or listening to student athletes read. Other community partnerships have helped our school establish an outdoor classroom and a school garden. The community provides a system to take care of basic needs of all students by purchasing clothing, coats, and other items, allowing our students to focus on learning while feeling cared for and safe.

Spring Creek’s motto is “Reaching the Peaks Together.” The common vision has resulted in our school exceeding state growth expectations for all children.
