Pine Knob Elementary School - Clarkston, MI

Each new day at Pine Knob Elementary is created through the interactions, connections, and collaboration between students and teachers. With a school enrollment of just under 500 students, Pine Knob Elementary is one of seven K-5 elementary schools in Clarkston, Michigan which is located approximately 30 miles north of Detroit. We work diligently alongside our families and community to provide a respectful environment and ensure personal growth for all. Our primary vision is that each student is fully engaged in a globally focused education that fosters a sense of self, perspective of others, responsibility, ownership and contribution. Pine Knob students are respectful and demonstrate strong character through the qualities they exhibit on a daily basis. Our staff cultivate students’ independence and growth with an emphasis on logic and reasoning, cooperative learning, and trial through learning from error. Within the school environment, students have many robust opportunities to learn by engaging in hands-on activities and discovering the unexpected. This process reinforces the inquisitive nature each child embodies. Students constructively question one another and appreciate the premise that more than one answer can be correct and/or applicable. With this amazing skill-set, students dig deeper into the core of a problem or a question.
