“Together, we will SOAR” is the motto of Fountain Green Elementary School. Our school community strives to make each day one which is full of engaging learning opportunities that inspire every student to succeed. Teachers use both collaborative and individual planning time to create lessons which foster a deeper understanding of concepts through inquiry based instruction. Data is diligently analyzed to identify the needs of students and grade level trends. Teachers incorporate technology in order to provide students with 21st century learning opportunities which match their level of curiosity. These technology affordances allow teachers to gather real time data on students and use instructional implications to address learning needs. High-quality teaching practices are promoted during book studies and school based professional development. Consequently, the school educates the whole child by utilizing key strategies that encourage and challenge all students to develop emotionally, physically, socially and culturally. Students are routinely asked to set their own goals; self-monitor and adjusting their goals as needed throughout the year. Positive citizenship is encouraged through our award winning character education program focusing on the student’s social and emotional well-being as well as school wide participation in the FGES Patriot Program. Teachers, students, parents, staff and numerous members of the supportive surrounding community work cooperatively and collaboratively to ensure student achievement and school success. Together, we SOAR!
