SA students and teachers working together for success!

SA students and teachers working together for success!

“Inspiring Students to Reach for the Stars,” South Adams High School helps students realize and maximize their unique potential and instill the courage to reach beyond perceived limitations. We support a school climate that encourages and empowers students to set high personal academic standards and to lead ethical lives. We want to graduate students who have ability and conviction.

Dots in Blue Water (dibw) is a student-initiated, project-based learning initiative. Each year dibw students and teachers travel to Haiti to provide clean drinking water to remote villages. In 2015, coordinating with Feed My Starving Children, the SA community packed 100,000 meals for distribution to malnourished children around the world. Our students understand that they can make a difference and that service is a star worth reaching for.

Students’ academic, social, and emotional learning is enhanced through a sense of community and responsibility for one another. Individualized instruction and tutoring ensure that each student is valued and served. Student clubs and sports teams work with middle and elementary students to broaden their impact on the SA community. Each year, numerous activities and social events allow for staff and student connections. During these activities, the SA “family” celebrates personal and corporate victories.

By fostering a sense of family, we are developing and graduating students who have achieved high academic goals and who have a background of service to others. The stars that SAHS students reach for are varied, but will bring purpose to their lives and the lives of others.
