Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School - Tampa, FL

Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School (BDCHS) was founded in 2007 after Hall of Fame Buccaneers linebacker Derrick Brooks and the Edward J. DeBartolo Jr. family joined forces and their charitable organizations to create the school.

Under the direction of Principal Bennett, Brooks DeBartolo went from a “D” school to five consecutive “A’s”. BDCHS is designed to prepare students for post-secondary success in a small, safe learning environment. Our mission statement is at the heart of what we do -- to be a model collegiate school offering a broad and rigorous educational program to students from diverse cultures. Within a caring, respectful environment, the school is committed to instilling in each student a desire to learn, to take appropriate risks, to accept challenges and to become a lifelong learner.

Serving a diverse population who are seeking a quality education in a school where it is cool to be smart, students are a name and not a number among our student body of 575. Students become well-equipped to think critically, collaborate, and become productive citizens. By providing a high-quality, challenging education of Advanced Placement, Dual Enrollment, and Honors courses with abundant support, students rise to meet challenges and realize their dream of attending a post-secondary institution to continue their academic and career journey. Many of our students earn up to 50 college credits, entering college with a two year head start.
