NBRS Badge for Wiesbaden Middle School
Wiesbaden Middle School - Wiesbaden, Germany, DD
Students planned and planted three gardens under the watchful eyes of the US Army Corps of Engineers.
The Wiesbaden Middle School mission statement states the entire DoDEA community provides a world-class educational program that inspires and prepares all students in military communities around the world for success in a dynamic, global environment. These missions are in evidence every day on and off campus as students are consistently being challenged with provoking and motivating ways to grow socially and academically from their teachers, military, and community partners. Our school's STEM partnership with the US Army Corps of Engineers - Europe Division has created a movement in the school where teachers and professionals collaborate to create learning and educational opportunities for our students in our community. Through the collaboration, students are able to learn about and experience different career fields within the STEM disciplines. This provides the students with opportunities to learn about many potential STEM careers that may interest them and potentially become their professions.
Because our students and their families face unique social and emotional challenges brought on by frequent military moves and combat deployments, Wiesbaden Middle School employs a cadre of counselors and educators who are dedicated to providing open ears, an open heart, and a helping hand to support and guide students through the challenges of living within a military community, as well as those difficult problems faced by most adolescents.
