Manchester GATERS at work

Manchester GATERS at work

Manchester GATE is in the heart of the Central Valley of California. Manchester GATE serves 2nd-6th graders from all 64 elementary schools in Fresno Unified. A rich, inquiry-based curriculum provides meaningful instruction, authentic learning opportunities, and a deeper understanding and application of real world experiences. Students experience integrated technology instruction and a hands-on science lab through highly qualified instructors who collaborate regularly with the classroom teachers. Teachers at each grade, work together to plan and implement differentiated instructional experiences and an integrated curriculum. Professional development opportunities including book studies, personal research, and district professional learning as well as a curriculum that closely aligns with the Common Core Standards have led to our successes. Manchester’s focus is not solely on academics, but to meet the emotional and social needs of students, as well. Students are offered many extra-curricular opportunities not traditionally seen in a elementary school. They play in the Jazz Band, Orchestra, or sing in the choir. Clubs include Chess, Robotics, Coding, Yoga, and Art. The Athletic teams also celebrate many district championships each year. Manchester GATE is an excellent cross section of the diversity that makes up the Central Valley of California. Staff and students come from a variety of cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds, and all work together to create a successful and amazing school. All who have attended Manchester GATE are proud to be a GATER for life. Once a GATER, always a GATER!
