LCHS has created a climate where collaboration, differentiated instruction, and technological innovation are at the core of our learning community. It is the mission of La Cañada High School, through the coordinated efforts of its faculty, staff, and community, to provide programs so that, upon graduation, all students will be inspired and able to use their developed skills to become leaders in service to society.

Teachers meet weekly in their Professional Learning Communities to collaborate on grade level lesson planning, alignment of assessments, and vertical teaming. Using the resources of our community to inspire, meaningful change occurs through our partnerships with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, local businesses, and elective courses where students showcase their many talents. A scaffolded curriculum exists to allow every student to master the necessary skills to move forward to college-level instruction.
LCHS is committed to the whole child offering both academic and extracurricular opportunities which enable every student to explore and develop their strengths. Furthermore, LCHS has award winning instrumental and vocal music programs, as well as exemplary drama and visual arts offerings. Students enroll in a variety of extracurricular activities including Speech and Debate, Teens for the Advancement of Children’s Hospital, Bridge, service organizations, and a thriving athletics program.

LCHS has also transformed its technological practice to increase student access to resources that support innovation, creativity, and critical thinking.
