Santa Fe Christian Schools (SFC) is an Independent School located in North County San Diego, California, whose mission is to partner with Christian parents. The SFC Middle School curriculum includes teaching and learning practices that engage our students’ learning experiences beyond the classroom. Teachers make learning exciting by using varied instructional practices including Problem and Inquiry-based learning, Flipping the Classroom, Lesson Study, and Project Based Learning. Ours is a highly relational community that focuses on the individual student’s growth academically, socially, and spiritually. Middle School students are at the perfect age for exploring and discovering the world around them. It is our desire to expose them to a myriad of experiences and real-life application so that they can find how God has gifted them. We challenged the traditional understanding of time and scheduling to increase student elective options so they can choose from 32 electives to fill their schedules with exciting options such as Draw Like da Vinci, Graphic Design, SeaPerch Robotics, Computer Coding, and Improv Theatre. Leadership development at SFC is both intentional and organic, as it is an integral part of the SFC fabric. Through sports, retreats, class trips, missions trips, advisory, student-initiated clubs, and student council, we provide multiple opportunities for our students to try on new roles, develop new interests, and strengthen their beliefs. We strive to help our students ask and answer the questions of who they are and Whose they are in order to develop their true identities and become authentic followers of Christ.
