As you walk through the doors of Vandergriff, you get a real sense of community as we set high expectations that focus on the whole child. Almost every day you can find parent volunteers helping students with small groups, creating materials/supplies for teachers, and Watch Dog Dads/Grandads walking the campus to ensure safety.

Academics are important, but what sets us apart is our student-centered, family focused atmosphere that stimulates collaboration and creativity. Our school’s theme is “Be the Change”. Our staff and students strive to “BE” the change for others. Student leadership has made a huge impact on our campus. Students have classroom and school wide leadership roles. Our Grizzly Rise and Shine Assembly is one way our students are able to display their leadership skills. Students make sure they arrive early to participate in these fun-filled assemblies. We celebrate student and staff successes and show school spirit by singing our school song. As you walk into classrooms you will find students leading discussions within a collaborative, risk-free atmosphere. This atmosphere allows for and encourages students to set their own academic and personal goals. Consistent intervention and enrichment contribute to our success. We empower students to reach high levels of achievement that cultivate character, foster relationships, and inspire the love of learning with the vision of providing a safe, nurturing supportive environment in which students strive for excellence emotionally, socially, and academically.
